We went to Nancy this morning, we had a look at the Place Stanislas, which is very grand to say the least, palace like gates, covered in "gold", fountains at everycorner...

We then went for a walk in the "Parc des Pepinieres", which actually has a little zoo... ducks, farm animals (donkeys, sheep, goats...) and even monkeys... :)
And finally, a walk by the Porte de le Craffe and the antique market that happen to be there.
After Nancy, we went to Metz, a city that obviously values art... Even the Cathedral Saint Etienne has its own piece.
Day/Jour 12 - 14/06/10
Luxembourg town today... a small city, full of banks and history. We visited the Bock Casemates which is a hidden network of tunnels of approximately 23km in length (It is 3 levels and 40m deep), built in the late 1600's to protect the people of the city.
Luxembourg is a walled city, on top of a hill (which has been the success of its defence). The walk around the city is very nice, especially the views of its many bridges.
We also went to the Bank Museum, which was good for it had a lot of old (and new) money on display.

Hi Kathy and Karine,
ReplyDeleteLuxembourg looks great with lots of old relic buildings and stuff. I'd love to go there and make some pictorials etc.
Love from:
Mum, Dad and Aliviah.
You ate ice cream, and we ate pancakes :)
ReplyDeleteI like Nancy, remind me when I was little, very little.
Luxembourg is kind of very nice. I have been there once or twice but I have never seen all of that, I was there just for cigarettes, even though I don't smoke!
Can't wait the next post. Be safe both of you.
Gros bisous et à bientôt
sylvie
Coucou les filles,
ReplyDeleteYou are eating ice cream, and we are eating pancakes. Yesterday, we went whales watching. I know what you think, yes I went too!
Bisous

I know, I repeat myself a lot, but I thought my first comment was not published :)
