So today we went to the National Archeology Museum in Athens... or so we thought. We actually ended up in the Acropolis Museum, well, it was nice anyways, it had on display a lot of artefacts from the Acropolis, including 5 of the 6 Caryatids from the Propylaia. Unfortunatly, we weren't allowed to take photos.
Aujourd'hui nous sommes aller au Musee Archeologique National d'Athens... enfin c'est ce qu'on croyait. En realitee, nous etions au Musee de l'Acropolis, mais bon, c'etait plutot sympa, il y avait plein d'object provenant de l'Acropolis, y compris 5 des 6 Caryatids du Propylaia. Malheureusement, on avait pas le droit de prendre de photos.
After asking information, we were pointed in the right direction and eventually arrived at the National Archeology Museum. Very cool museum. The fact that we have been to nearly all the sites the artefacts were from, made it much better. We finally saw the real Golden Mask of Agamemnon and many more things from the Mycenae site.
Apres avoir demander, on a montrer ou aller et nous sommes enfin arrive au Musee Archeologique National. Un musee super cool. Le faite qu'on ai visiter la majorite des sites d'ou provienne les objets etait un bonus. Nous avons enfin vu le vrai Masque en Or d'Agamenmon et tout plein d'autre chose provennant du site de Mycenae.
They also have large statue collections where we saw the famous statue of the god Zeus (or is it Poseidon... lighting rod or trident... we shall never know). And a lot of other really nice ones.
Ils avaient egalement une grosse collection de statue ou nous y avons vu la fameuse statue du dieu Zeus (ou etait-ce Poseidon... un eclair ou un trident... on ne le saura jamais). Et tout plein d'autre belle statue.
Day/Jour 178 - 27/11/10
So today we were supposed to go island hopping, but due to severe ferry strikes, we decided to postpone our little trip until next year, when the islands won't be so asleep.
Aujourd'hui on etait sense aller faire un petit tour sur les iles, mais vu qu'il y a plein de greve des ferry en ce moment, on a decide de repousser notre petit voyage jusqu'a l'annee prochaine, quand les iles ne seront pas autant endormis.
So we tried to contact our olive picking host to see if we could come back to work... no reply. So we decided to head back to Italy on the next ferry, tomorrow. In the mean while, we got a few olives from the campsite - as we didn't get any when we were working... nor did we get oil... :( - and started our curing process, following the advise of the lady in the office... :)
Donc nous avons essayer de contacter notre hotes pour la ceuillette des olives pour voir si on pouvait retourner travailler... pas de reponce. Donc nous avons decide de retourner en Italie sur le prochain ferry, demain. Entre temps, nous avons recuperer quelques olives au camping - vu qu'on a pas pu en avoir quand on travaillait, ni d'huil non plus d'ailleur... :( - et nous avons commencer a les preparer, en suivant les conseils de la femme de la reception... :)
Day/Jour 179 - 28/11/10
We drove to Patras and got the ferry to Brindisi, at the very south of Italy.
Nous sommes aller a Patrs et avons pris le ferry pour Brindisi, tout au sud de l'Italie.
Day/Jour 180 - 29/11/10
We arrived in Brindisi, very tired, and decided to drive the 630km to Sicily via Italy's boot. The sceneries were quite nice, very much like Greece... Olive and citrus trees everywhere and beautiful coastlines...
Nous sommes arrivees a Brindisi, tres fatiguees, et avons decided de rouler les 630km qui nous separait de la Sicile en suivant la botte de l'Italie. Les paysages etaient plutot sympa, ca ressemblait beaucoup a la Grece... Des olivier et des arbres a agrumme partout et de tres belle cotes...
We eventually made it to Patti, in Sicily, after a somewhat rough ferry, in the dark, and went to sleep. :)
Nous sommes enfin arriver a Patti, en Sicile, apres un ferry quelque peu remuer, dans le noir, et nous sommes aller nous coucher. :)
Day/Jour 181 - 30/11/10
We took a bit of a chill day today, cleaned the van and made some new friends... So cute... I want one. :)
Nous nous un peu reposer aujourd'hui, nous avons netoyer le camion et avons fait de nouveau amis... Trop mignon... J'en veux un. :)
