Day/Jour 465 - 09/09/11
Today we visited the D-Day landing beaches. We started off at Pointe du Hoc. Various remains of bunkers and huge pit holes from the land surface is all that remains, really depicting the severity of the battle. This was a strategic area to obtain as it was a German observation point of the Utah and Omaha beaches and thus suffered great devastation of lives and terrain.
Aujourd'hui nous visiter les plage du debarquement. Nous commencer a la Pointe du Hoc. Il ya a variete de reste, des bunker et gros trou d'explosion, c'est tout ce qui reste, vraiment representer la gravite des bataille. C'etait un zone de strategie pour obtenir, c'etait une pointe d'observation de le plage a Utah et Omaha et donc souffrir beaucoup en vie et terrain.
We then went to the American Cemetery, over 9000 white marble crosses, row after row, it really does give you a perspective of the number of soldiers killed in combat and this was only the American Cemetery. Americans had the choice to bury their loved ones here or be buried back home so this is only a portion of American casualties.
Apres nous visiter le Cimetiere Americain, plus de 9000 croix en marbre blanc, rangee apres rangee, tu voir vraiment en perspective le nombre soldat mort en combat et c'etait seulement le Cimitiere Americain.
Afterwards we drove to Arromanche, where the remains of one of the two artificial harbours, Port Winston remains. Large concrete slabs have broken up over time and cannot be seen at high tide. Fortunately we got our tides right and we were able to see these slabs that were buried in the sand bank, covered in moss, seaweed and mussels.
Apres nous aller a Arrromanche ou il reste un des deux port artificiel, Port de Winston existe encore. Gros dalle de beton casser en morceau avec le temps et pas voir a maree haute. Heureusement nous arriver en voyant cela, les dalles enterrer dans le sable, couvrir en mousse, algues et moule.
Day/Jour 466 - 10/09/11
Today we had a cruisey day. Started off the day heading to the local market at the harbour where we acquired some fresh fish.
Aujourd'hui nous avoir un jour tranquil. Nous commencer le jour avec une visite au marche locale au port ou nous acquerir du poisson frais.
While we were busy down at the shops Titi was trying his best to catch some fish, and two fish he did....bravo.
Pendant que nous occuper avec les magasins, Titi tenter attraper du poisson, et il attraper deux poisson....bravo.
So after a yummy lunch we headed to Bayeux, we saw the famous tapestry - no photos allowed, and also checked out some of the town.
Donc, apres un dejeuner delicieux nous aller a Bayeux, nous voir la tapisserie celebre - pas autoriser les photo, et aussi explorer la ville.
Day/Jour 367 - 11/09/11
We moved campsite today, so the 6 of us formed a bit of a gipsy convoy... fun fun... :)
Aujourd'hui nous s'en aller de notre camping, donc a nous six former un convoi de gitan... amusement amusement... :)
During the afternoon, Kathy and I checked out the Mont St Michel. Very cool from the outside, the inside is also quite pretty but packed with crappy touristy shops and people, which was slightly expected I suppose. The views from the top were very nice. We stayed around there until night fall to get a nice picture of it all lit-up... :)
Apres midi Karine et moi visiter le Mont St Michel. L'exterieur c'est magnifique, l'interieur est tres beau aussi, mais beaucoup des magasins touristique et des personnes, ce qui ete attendu je suppose. Les panorama du sommet c'est tres bien. Nous attendre la nuit pour une photo tout allumer... :)
Day/Jour 368 - 12/09/11
We split from the grand-parents again, we'll meet up again in a few days. So we headed for the Pink Granit Coast on the North coast of Brittany. Very beautiful sights, heaps of fun climbing the boulders. Most of the houses, monuments, benches, fences and everything are pink in the area which is quite nice. :)
Nous quitter famille de Karine encore, nous rendezvous en un peu jour plutard. Donc, nous aller la Cote de Granit Rose sur la cote Nord de la Bretagne. Des vues tres tres belle, c'est beaucoup jolie montee sur les gros rocher. Les majorite des maison, des monument, des banc, des barriere et toutes est la couleur rose en le region, c'est exceptionelle. :)
Day/Jour 369 - 13/09/11
Today we visited Pointe St Mathieu, a westerly point off the coast. There are lighthouses galore in this area and a nice abbey. We were able to wander around the abbey freely and around the coast from the lighthouse.
Aujourd'hui nous visite la Pointe St Mathieu, un point ouest de le cote. Il y a beaucoup des phare dans les alentour et une joli abbaye aussi. Nous pouvoir marche autour l'abbaye et autour le cote de la phare.
We then made our way to Lesconil where we shall visit Mamie 'Nuss for the next few days. In the afternoon we went to the beach and enjoyed a little sunshine for the first time in a while.
Apres nous aller a Lesconil ou nous visiter Mamie 'Nuss pour quelque jours. Apres midi nous aller le plage et profiter du soleil pour le premiere fois en un moment.
Day/Jour 370 - 14/09/11
After a nice sleep-in we picked the apples off the tree for Mamie and ran a few errands.
Apres a bonne nuit nous ramasser les pommes de l'arbre pour Mamie et faire un peu des course.

Today we went to the Pointe de Raz, beautiful weather, beautiful views...
Aujourd'hui nous sommes allees a la Pointe du Raz, on a eu un temps magnifique et des vues superbes...
On the way, we stopped at the Pate Henaff shop (yummy yummy pate) and stocked up a little bit... :)
En route, on s'est arretee au magasin du Pate Henaff (du pate super bon !) et on a fait un petit stock... :)
Day/Jour 372 - 16/09/11
Today we left Mamie 'Nuss's and headed to our meet point with the Grandparents. On the way, we stopped at Concarneau, a vey cute little walled city. Unfortunatly, it was low tide so we didn't get to see it all surrounded by water.
On est partie de chez Mamie Nuss ce matin et sommes parties en direction de notre point de rencontre avec papi mamie, on s'est arratee a Concarneau, une tres jolie ville close. Malheureusement on y est arrivee a maree basse donc on ne l'a pas vu tout entouree d'eau.
We did a nice little walk around the city walls. We also went out for lunch (oh so rare... "stingy.com hello...") and had yummy mussels and chips. :)
On a fait une belle ballade le long des murs de la ville. On est egalement allee au resto a midi (tres tres rare... "rapia.com bonjour...") et on s'est une petite moule fritte bien sympathique. :)
